Working with 2 disabled riders

[Akadeanna Hawk]

There were 4 people in the largest of the disabled ring 2 were on horseback while 2 others were watching them ride. Akadeanna and Skylar were on the ground while Charles Xavier and Jared Hawk were on horseback. Akadeanna watched her great-grandson with a keen eye as he rode so amazingly and her mare Midnight responded well to his verbal cues as he was a paraplegic and so was Charles Xavier the one her fiancé was watching on the other horse.

Charles was enjoying his first time on a horse in a long time. He could tell Jared was having just as much fun as he was. It felt different than being in a wheelchair. Charles could see that Akadeanna and Skylar were watching them. He smiles at both of them as he passes them.

Akadeanna smiles as she could tell Charles was having fun on his first time on a horse in a long time. Jared was enjoying himself too, he was glad to have a way to get around besides flying in his jet or in his jeep. Akadeanna smiles and says, “Looking good Charles.”

Charles smiles. "Thanks Akadeanna. This is much better than just using the wheelchair to get around places. I'm sure Jared feels the same way." As he said that, there was a shimmer in the air and suddenly a very large gold dragon appears, but one could see through her. Just then 2 men come running in, one held a device in his hands and he says to the other, "It's in here somewhere."

Akadeanna smiles and says, “I can imagine Charles. Yeah I know he does.” Jared chuckles and says, “Yes you are right Charles it is so much better, much more freedom.” Both horses rear at the sight of the spirit Dragon frightening them, Jared grips the reins tighter as his mare reared under him glad his legs were strapped to the saddle. Akadeanna turns hearing voices of 2 men she had heard before and she growls that wasn’t good.

Charles smiles. "Yes it is. I can tell he does." Charles chuckles. "I know it is my friend. Yes, a lot more freedom." Charles grips the reins of his horse as well as it reared under him as well. Sam spotted Akadeanna and they head to her. "Akadeanna. We tracked a ghost that seemed to be coming from this area. Have you seen anything unusual?" Sam asked her. Charles snorted. "Anything unusual? Anything unusual? You mean like a ghost dragon?" He points to the gold dragon. Dean uses his device. "Yup that's what this thing's been detecting." Faranth hissed at all of them and suddenly things started flying everywhere as she flapped her wings. Dean says, "This not good." Sam says, "This not good? When is anything like this good?" Dean says, "I think she's gone poltergeist for some reason or other."

Akadeanna smiles and says, “He gets tired of only being in his jet flying or fighting or in a jeep so this is true freedom.” Jared chuckles and says, “Of course.” Akadeanna looks at the two shaking her head and she says, “I’d say a golden spirit Dragon would qualify.” She snorts at the two and she nods and says, “Yeah sure seems like it, but her name is Faranth I recognize her anywhere from Pern records.” She hoped it’d work as it had before and she asks Faranth? What’s wrong sweet Gold? She says looking up at the spirit Gold.

Charles nods. "I know the feeling. It's hard always being in this wheelchair and having to use it to get around the school or places like this." Sam nods. "Yes, I would agree, Akadeanna." Dean frowns. "You know of this gold dragon? We've read the records our father left us but he never mentioned dragons before. So this is a first for us. So you say her name is Faranth? Then why is she here?" Faranth looks at the woman and says, How do you know my name? We have been dead a long time. I cannot find Sorka. I have searched for her since we went /between/ but I think some how I got lost.

Akadeanna nods and says, “I can believe it; that’s why I had this place developed for the disabled to get around and the therapy rings like this one.” She nods and says, “Yes I do. I’ll have to give you them then or I could introduce you to regular non-spirit Dragons later. Yes her name is Faranth the first Senior Queen ridden by Sorka the first Weyrwoman. I’m not sure I’m hoping my gifts to speak to animals extends to spirit Dragons.” She smiles at the Gold and she says, I am well versed on Pern history that is how I know your name you were the first Senior Queen and your rider Sorka was the first Weyrwoman. Yes I know, but the records of you two still exist. She stopped trying to remember some who served her parents in the Egyptian heavens and other parts and then she remembered one who looked like Sorka and she flashes an image of the woman to Faranth and asks Is that your rider Sorka? All the images of her are long faded.

Faranth nods. I see. So that is how you know my name. Yes, that is true I was the first Senior Queen and yes Sorka was the first Weyrwoman. Sean and Caranath were First Weyrleader and my mate. They do? I had no idea. Faranth bugles. That is my Sorka. They have? That's sad. Do you know where she might be? We've been parted too long and I wish to be with her again. Just then another dragon spirit appeared but this one was a large bronze. He bugled to Faranth and says, Sean and I have been searching everywhere for you Faranth. And here you are finally. It's time to come home with us. He looks at Akadeanna. I am Caranath, dragon of Sean Connell. We've been searching for Faranth since they got lost on their way to the heavens.

Akadeanna smiles and says Yes that’s how I know your name. I’m glad that was right, though some believe you were the first Gold to hatch, but I know you weren’t, but that’s ok, you two were perfectly matched from what I read. Yes I remember reading about them too. Yes they do. Now you know. She was glad that it was her rider and she says I’m glad she is your Sorka, I went through my knowledge of those who live and work in the heavens which is where you were supposed to go after you died, and I remembered that one looked like the vague images of Sorka that’s why I asked. Yes they have, but yours surprisingly are still perfect. Yes she is in the Egyptian area of the heavens serving my parents Bastet and Amun. I will get her for you or if you will let me I’ll ride you and guide you to her. She looks at the large Bronze and she bows her head lightly and says I remember seeing you working with my parents before Caranth. Well she is here. She told me she was looking for Sorka.

Faranth looks at her. She's in the Egyptian area of the heavens serving your parents Bastet and Amun? I will let you ride me so you can guide me to her. Caranath chuckles. You have? And your parents? Are you saying that you are a daughter of Bastet and Amun? I am honored. I'm glad that she is. Ah yes, she got lost when we were headed to the heavens and Sorka begged me and Caranath to search for her and I'm glad to have finally found my mate. Sorka will be happy too. She has missed Faranth. Faranth says, Shall we go? Dean looks at Akadeanna and then at the 2 dragons and the 2 men on the horses and says, "Go ahead and take her to the heavens. Sam and I will keep your friends company if that's alright with you."

Akadeanna nods and says Yes she is in the Egyptian area of the heavens serving my parents Bastet and Amun. I’m glad you will, I’d be happy to. She nods at Caranath’s words and says Yes I have. Yes my parents. Yes I am their oldest Akadeanna. I am honored to meet you like this. That’s what she said happened. Thankfully she came here and my abilities extend to spirit Dragons. I know you are I can feel it. I know she will be. I had wondered who she was missing all this time and now I understand. She smiles at Faranth and says, Yes we shall. She smiles and says, “That’s fine Dean.” Having ridden Rinth many times Akadeanna mounted Faranth with the skills of a seasoned rider and settled on her neck and she pats the Gold’s neck gently and says Come on lets go, she pauses thinking a minute where she could find Sorka in the heavens and then strongly shows Faranth an image remembering what Wesley said on /betweening/ and she says To there lovely Faranth she’s there.
